Hi Samantha, you don't have to code or be a coder to use Linux. In fact, just about anyone who can install Windows on a computer can install Linux. Linux is no more difficult than Windows to use. In fact, after I'm finished writing my current book, I will be writing one on how to use Linux to produce books, movies, DVD's, CD music, signs, and anything else that is publishable.

When you say "indie" do you mean Indiana Jones? You talking about the Vanishing Pointe strip?
I just published this one about the Twilight Saga today that's been pretty well received... I figured it would be fairly popular, but I didn't expect it to be nearly this popular. ;P
I have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 4 and mostly I use Illustrator for doing the line work and then Photoshop for colors.
Honestly I spend a lot of time working on them. They look so good primarily 'cause I put a few hours into every page or every image. I have the impression most people spend less time on the art -- say 30 minutes to an hour, maybe 2 hours tops... meanwhile I'm spending a day to two days on most of my pages or strips. Granted it does vary -- when I have a single-panel idea for Woohooligan, sometimes I can knock the art out faster. Maybe one of these days I'll get better at it and find a way of getting these multi-panel pages for Cashing In done faster. I hope anyway. I am at least able to reuse some of the lines for various characters in Illustrator and the more pages I do the more material I have that I can reuse, so hopefully that will continue to speed me up.
Although I'm also still refining my style, so the look for these characters is gradually changing too... and that hampers my ability to reuse older art.
I've been pretty busy recently and haven't paid much attention to this site lately... Been spending a lot more time on DeviantArt, promoting my comics... I started doing a new one a month or so ago -- my first attempt at an ongoing story -- http://cashingin.webcomic.ws. So far folks seem to be really enjoying it. :D Oh and I finally got my divorce finalized after 10 years and my child support went from $10k arrears to $0 overnight! Woohoo! Thank god for good attorneys! And I'm on disability now for the time being. Waiting on some tax issues to get cleared up -- mostly waiting on the IRS to get back to us. Once that's done, then I'll be getting back to working on the AutLabs business. :D
