Autism Speaks today applauded Pennsylvania House Speaker Dennis O'Brien and state lawmakers for passing the strongest autism insurance reform legislation in the country. The bill (HB 150) to create a new “Autism Spectrum Disorders Coverage” provision of Pennsylvania insurance law was amended by the House on Tuesday and sent back to the Senate on Wednesday night where it passed 49-1. Autism Speaks Walk Raises Nearly $1 Million

Port Chester, NY - Nearly 12,000 walkers – including individuals with autism, their families and friends –- participated in Autism Speaks’ 7th Annual Westchester/Fairfield Walk Now for Autism on Sunday, June 8, at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY.
Approximately, $1 million was raised for critical scientific research into a growing health crisis that now affects 1 in every 150 children at. All proceeds from the event benefit Autism Speaks, the nation’s leading autism advocacy organization.
According to Valerie Zygmont, Westchester/Fairfield & Greater Hudson Valley Walk Manager, funds are still being counted and the chapter hopes to reach its goal of $1.5 million. ...
