Frustration and video games

posted 29 months ago by marlies

My son loves to play pac man and mario brothers but gets so frustrated when they die that he either starts crying and screaming or hits his brother.  We have tried redirecting him when it gets bad but once he wants to do something there is no stopping him.  I want him to enjoy playing video games without all the frustration.  Any ideas?

well if he is young its natural for an autistic person to have tantrums whenever something goes wrong.Trust me i know what its like.Doctors said i have severe autism. But my family believed i had talents such as memory and math skills.I struggled in reading and language and social skill. I worked hard to accpomplish goals because i wanted to inspire kids and parents with autism to never give up.So as long as your compassionate and determined to teach him social skills and body language,he will be alright. My mom helped me alot even though she thought i would live home forever because i really struggled with verbal language and social skills. I proved her wrong, cuz in elementary school i failed english MCAS,but in sophmore year i nearly scored a perfect score in English.Dont lose hope, autism can be a gift that can make a huge impact on the world such as inspring autistic people named Temple Grandin and Daniel Tammet. It may look like an autisitic child has alot of pooor skills, but autisitc ppl actually have alot of potential to achieve sucess than non autistic peers. I hope this cheers you up.I was labled a severe autistic child, but now im high-functioning.Dont give up.
